The Bomboniere Shop specializes in guest favors and gifts for special occasions. Our name pays homage to the beautiful, age-old tradition of European "bomboniere" - keepsake mementos whose giving and receiving generate an atmosphere of mutual appreciation, celebration and much, much joy.

Many of our products are imported from Europe and represent the components of traditional bomboniere: delicious sugar-coated almonds, beautiful tulle, pochettes that are handcrafted from fine trims and laces, small precious gifts, artisan presentation boxes. Other products reflect the creative juices that surround celebrations in American culture today and are starting to inspire bomboniere rivaling those of Europe in terms of creativity and options.

We work with a pool of very talented artists and artisans and take great pride in the personalized work we take on. A message from our President and Founder
The idea behind The Bomboniere Shop originated from my own experience as a bride-to-be. My husband and I wanted to present our guests with a special, keepsake memento of our wedding day: a symbol of gratitude for sharing in our celebration. Off we went searching for "that something special" but it wasn't long before frustration set in. The choice of favors and packaging available on the American market seemed limited and poor in comparison to those we remembered from our native Italy. There, the commissioning of beautiful bomboniere is a long-standing and cherished tradition. No wedding, baptism or anniversary is considered complete without one. Specialized "bomboniere shops" grace every city in Italy. Skilled hands inside these shops create custom-made treasures that reflect the personal style of each client.

Just as my husband and I were about to give up hope, my mother-in-law (who lives in Venice) came to our rescue. She ordered a set of exquisitely handcrafted bomboniere from a shop that has served more than one generation in her family. Our bomboniera was a sterling-silver sugar spoon engraved with our initials. The spoon was tied with an elegant ribbon to a pochette made of silk. Inside the pochette were five sugar-coated almonds, representing the five qualities of marriage: love, happiness, healthy, children, longevity and wealth. Over the years, on visits to the homes of friends and family, my husband and I have come to realize that many of our spoons have found a place in a favorite sugar bowl or curio cabinet. I can't tell you what joy it brings us to know that our bomboniera made a meaningful impression.
